Background
NYCE contribution to the quality software industry
- NYCE has focused its efforts on the Information Technology sector, providing this industry a regulatory framework that allows commercialize its products and services increasing its competitiveness according to guidelines internationally accepted. For this reason, NYCE has been working to strengthen the stock of IT standards through the development of national standards homologated with those international.
- The origin of MoProSoft Standard is the need to comply with the Software Program (ProSoft), 6 strategy of the Economics Ministry (established from the previous administration), relating to "achieve international standards of process capability" by small and medium-sized Mexican companies (PYMES, as in Spanish) dedicated to develop software. The MoProSoft scheme allows PYMES to demonstrate the capability of their processes and thereby, make them more competitive to stay in the market.
- Regarding the IT sector, NYCE contributed to develop and assess the NMX-I-059/02-NYCE-2005 Information Technology - Software Engineering - Quality of Product (MoProSoft). Model of Maturity Assessment achieved legitimacy and legal certainty, so its creation was not an accident. This made the model becomes a Standard named MoProSoft.
- As an IT Verification Unit certified since November 2005 by the Mexican Certification Entity (EMA in Spanish) and, according to the Federal Law of Metrology and Standardization, NYCE assesses the compliance with NMX-I-059/02-NYCE-2005 (MoProSoft), determining the maturity of all procedures capability of those companies granted with the corresponding certification.
- Today, NYCE takes into account the importance of these massive efforts and thus, it seeks the necessary partnerships in order to make standards are known among a larger number of organizations, and they are exploited as tools of competitiveness. Thus, the experience and specialization of NYCE regarding IT, converge for the standardization and conformity assessment in this field have a wide effect; that the market demands the compliance with the standards generating a culture of transparency and confidence to produce Mexican software with an international quality.
¿What is NMX-I-059-NYCE-2005 (MoProSoft)?
The cabling defined on this standard supports a wide range of services, including voice, data, text, image and video.
The safety requirements (electrical and protective, fire, etc.) and electromagnetic compatibility (CEM) are beyond the scope of this standard.
Verification according to NMX-I-059/02-NYCE-2005 is to determine the maturity level of the 9 (nine) procedures into the organizations having the MoProSoft model as a reference.
These 9 (nine) procedures are included into three categories: Senior Management (SM), Management (MAN) and Operation (OPE), which ensures a full coverage of the organization.
The maturity level of capacities is determined for each verified procedure and, based on it, the maturity level of capabilities into the organization, which is the highest level achieved for all procedures of MoProSoft.
