Proficiency Testings Between Laboratories

One of the requirements for testing and calibration laboratories with respect to its accreditation and maintenance, is to comply with the Mexican Standard NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-2006 "General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories", paragraph 5.9, which considers that laboratories establish its Quality Assurance Methodology while there is not a provider of proficiency testing software between laboratories.

Considering this need, NYCE offers the Provider Service for Proficiency Testing Programs recognized by the Mexican Accreditation Entity in the electric-electronics industry, with a wide extent of testing methods.

NYCE assumes the challenge to become stronger and consolidate a critical element for the conformity assessment scheme in Mexico: the testing laboratories, due to the proficiency testing programs, testing laboratories:

• Provide a tool for quality assurance, which allows share its performance with similar laboratories.
• Help identify some issues related to the staff performance, calibration of equipment and adequacy of procedures.

The advantage of having a provider such as NYCE is not only the savings for the laboratories regarding the infrastructure, operating costs and control, but having an acceptable margin that ensures the compliance with the regulatory requirements of quality assurance into the accreditation scheme. This is achieved between laboratories, by applying comparisons between the testing methods applied by them, as well as in validated and standardized calculations allowing a high degree of confidence in determining the performance of the testing or calibration laboratories based on variables such as measuring equipment, traceability, installations, environmental controls and qualified personnel performing such measurements.
