Highly Specialized Equipment(H.S.E.)
(Equipo Altamente Especializado [E.A.E])
The Official Mexican Standard NOM-019-SCFI-1998, "Safety of the Data Processing Equipment", Clause 1.2, establishes that certain equipment is exempt of complying with this Standard (Highly Specialized Equipment or H.S.E.), provided that it can demonstrate that complies with the following guidelines:
- Highly specialized equipment that is not mentioned in clause 1.1 is exempt of applying this standard, as well as the equipment that is not able to be sold to the general public, but corporate users or organizations installing, operating and updating the equipment directly or sharing responsibility with the provider and:
- Equipment with a multi-process architecture regardless of the type and number of used processors, such as: workstations, scalable servers that not comply with clause 1.1, super-servers, microcomputers, corporate systems, enterprise systems o business computer systems, midrange systems, fault tolerant systems, non-stop systems, high performance systems, super-computers and macro-computers.
- Peripherals connected with the above machines such as: printers, chart makers, external disks drive, external tapes drive, digitizer boards, scanners, optical drives, monitors, workstations or units of control or adaptation.
- Equipment utilized for the electronic communication between data processing equipment and peripherals equipment, local area networks (LAN), etc., such as concentrators, protocol converters or routers.
- Data Storage Device, recording-reproduction among others.
- Data processing equipment specially designed to operate on altitudes higher than 9.842 ft (3000 m) above the sea level.
NOTE:
Laboratory tests are not required to get a report from E.A.E, but technical information has to be analyzed.
In addition to this, it shall be complied with clause 10, paragraph XII of the "Agreement identifying the custom fractional of rate based on the Law of General Taxes for Import and Export, in which the merchandise subject to the compliance with the Official Mexican Standards at their points of entrance and exit is classified".
In order to solve the proposed needs, NYCE grants a Report of Highly Specialized Equipment based on the compliance with the technical requirements verifiable with the original technical information, in case of being required.
